Prevention – Information Sessions

Womynkind Productions
Performance artist Nancy Hulse operates this website, which offers resources and forums on domestic violence, as well as information about Hulse's multi-media educational shows, called "That Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady" and "A Rose by Any Other Name." A good resource for schools, organizations, or communities seeking an educational presentation and format to discuss violence against women.  You may want to get comments from someone who has seen one of Ms. Hulse’s performances.

SAY NO TO VIOLENCE - BUILD A CULTURE OF PEACE

An initiative of Y Service clubs in Canada in support of the U.N. Decade for Non-violence and a Culture of Peace for the Children of the World and based on the Culture of Peace Manifesto of 2000. All clubs in the international movement of Y Service Clubs are encouraged to adopt the international theme “Say No To Violence”. Ontario clubs have also adopted a concurrent theme for the next five years - "Build a Culture of Peace", starting 1 July, 2001. There will be five special action themes dealing with the various issues involved in building a culture of peace, especially for children and women. The issues covered will be both local and international with resources and ideas for club activities, discussion and action during the five years, all assembled in a Club Resource Kit. Modified versions of these  information kits will be made available to YMCAs, churches and other groups interested in participating in the U.N. initiative. Where possible, Y service clubs will work with the YMCA and other groups in joint projects to increase awareness of the central issues and to promote individual and group action.
