The Youth TOF

The International Council Meeting held at Douala in 1999 adopted February 26 as the Youth TOF day thereby enabling the participation of youth in one of the most simple as well as symbolic Y's Men projects aimed at making the lives of the downtrodden a little better. The last two years have witnessed the power of youth to contribute to this noble venture. We could come up with figures of US$ 600 in 1998 - 99 and US$ 240 in 1999 - 2000. These certainly are small figures. But the sense of having contributed our might for the doing of some good to some of the poorest of the poor people around the world should be gratifying enough.

Lets put our heads together and come up with ideas to raise the funds for Youth TOF. All it takes is a bit of initiative and some drive. The efforts we put in to organise the kind of fund raising programmes which would work in our own communities would very well be supported by our home Y's Men's Clubs. The question is: Are we ready to get the thing rolling by way of our enthusiasm? If yes I am sure that success will be ours. Its up to us to take the active role and thereby justify our place on the centre stage. We would need to get our priorities right and implement plans that would have our efforts dead on target.

Lets take up the challenge:

  • The challenge of being an active respondent to the needs of the underprivileged and the undernourished.

  • The challenge of being no longer be a passive and noncommittal Y’s Men participant.

  • The challenge of not being a silent witness to the suffering around us.

Lets be positively different and face the challenges head on.

This is indeed a beautiful world!
