YMCA Youth Centre, Kakinzi Village, Uganda
TOF 98-03
The Youth Centre was first supported by Ys Mens TOF in 1992. The Centre serves street and destitute children and those orphaned as a result of AIDS. The overall objective is to make Kakinzi a model village by the end of 2000.

The rabbit breeding unit
The nursery and primary school opened in the spring of 1999 with around 260 pupils of whom 41 were sponsored orphans. A bore hole and wells have been constructed and vegetable gardening and rabbit breeding have started as income-generating projects.
The 1998 TOF funding was for the production workshop which once fully equipped will provide vocational skills training and employment and generate income for the village.

Future plans include installing electricity, expanding the boarding facilities, fencing the school, equipping a clinic and expanding and broadening the income-generating base by embarking on poultry farming.
