Election Results 2020/21
Voting for International Officers
The deadline for this year’s International Election was 29 January 2021. The results were ratified at a meeting of the International Secretary General and International Executive Officers on 18 February 2021.
At the deadline, 765 clubs had sent in their voting ballots for International Officers. Based on the number of clubs eligible to vote (882 clubs), the participation rate was 86.7%.
New International Executive Officers (IEOs)
Mr Samuel Koodathinalil Chacko
South India Region, India Area
International President Elect (IPE)
Candidates were nominated by the International Council from names submitted by Regional Directors on behalf of each Region and by the Nominating Committee.
Mr Samuel Koodathinalil Chacko, South India Region, India Area, was elected International President Elect for 2021/22. Mr Koodathinalil Chacko was nominated by the Central India and South India Regions.
New International Council Members (ICMs)
Africa
Mr Victor Basom Dilli Jatau (Africa Northwest) was elected to serve as Area President Elect/International Council Member Elect from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2022 and as Area President/International Council Member from 1 July 2022 until 30 June 2024.
Asia Pacific
Mr Shen Chi-Ming (Charming) (Taiwan Region) was elected to serve as Area President Elect/International Council Member Elect 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2022, Area President/International Council Member 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2023 & Past Area President/International Council Member 1 July 2023 – 30 June 2024.
Europe
Mr Villy Moelgaard (Denmark Region) was elected to serve as Area President Elect/International Council Member from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2022 and as Area President/International Council Member from 1 July 2022 until 30 June 2023.
India (Mid West India Region)
Mr Joy Alappatt was elected to serve as International Council Member Elect from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2022 and then as International Council Member from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2024.
India (South India Region)
Mr Anand Jacob Verghese was elected to serve as International Council Member Elect from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2022 and then as International Council Member from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2024.
India (South West India Region)
Mr Shukur Veliyil A. Baker was elected unopposed to serve as International Council Member Elect from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2022 and then as International Council Member from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2024.
Korea
Mr Kim Han-seob (Korea South Region), was elected unopposed to serve as Area President Elect/International Council Member from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2022 and then as Area President/International Council Member from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.
Latin America
Mr Jurandir Sousa (Brazil Region) was elected unopposed to serve as Area President Elect/International Council Member Elect from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2022 and as Area President/International Council Member from 1 July 2022 until 30 June 2024.
Latin America
Miss Nathalia Novak (Brazil Region) was elected unopposed to serve as International Council Member (Young) from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2023.
No ICM/ICM(E) elections were needed in the following Areas
Canada/Caribbean
Mr Brian Minielly (Central & Western Canada Region) was elected last year to serve as Area President Elect/International Council Member Elect from 1 July 2020 until 30 June 2021 and then as Area President/International Council Member from 1 July 2021 until 30 June 2023.
United States
Mr Shaju Sam (North Atlantic Region), was elected last year to serve as Area President Elect/International Council Member Elect from 1 July 2020 until 30 June 2021 and then as Area President/International Council Member from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2023.
