Park Dedicated to Founder

Y’s Men International is proud to announce that on 17 September, the City Council of Greater Toledo, Ohio, USA unanimously voted to dedicate a public park located in the middle of the city of Toledo in the name of the founder of Y’s Men International, Judge Paul William Alexander.

The dedication of the park recognises his leadership to establish the first Y’s Men’s Club in Toledo in 1922 and its development as an international service club organisation.

This is indeed a great honour for the Y’s Men Movement across the world. The formal dedication ceremony of the park by the city government is expected to be held during November this year in conjunction with the Y’s Men International RDE Summit at Toledo. The naming of a local park after our founder was one of the Paul William Alexander Legacy Project initiatives to celebrate our centenary in 2022.

Y’s Men International is indebted to the Mayor Mr Wade Kapszukiewicz, the Councillors, and the people of Toledo. We also express our gratitude to Brad Toft, CEO of the YMCA of Greater Toledo for the great support from YMCA for achieving this historic opportunity to honour our founder at the birthplace of our Movement.
