Elections – Exemption Requests
Deadline: 30 September 2024 @ 11:59 p.m. (23:59 CEST)
Voting privileges are granted to clubs that are in good standing and with a minimum of 15 club members during the last 3 semesters. Clubs which have had 5-14 members in any of the last 3 semesters (Aug 23, Feb 24, Aug 24), have been chartered for at least 25 years (as at 31 December 2024) and which are in good standing may apply to their RD for exemption from the minimum reported membership requirement in By-law 411, with a brief rationale and statistics supporting the request.
Exemption can be granted to a maximum of three times for a club consecutively (commencing 2024/25).
The request must be received by the Regional Director by 30 September and must certify that the club is actively seeking to increase its membership and state the number of members for the most recent three semesters. The Regional Director will then be requested by IHQ to send the list of requests that they endorse to IHQ by 15 October.
The exemption request form is to be completed online. Regional Directors should share the link with eligible clubs (https://www.ysmen.org/exemption-request/)
All eligible clubs are listed on the request form (25+ years), whether an exemption request will be required or not. If Regions or clubs need support to understand if an exemption will be required or not, please contact IHQ.
Elections – IPE Nominations
Deadline: 25 October 2024 @ 5:00 p.m. (17:00 CEST)
The nomination forms for International President-Elect (2025/26) were emailed to Regional Directors on 24 September 2024. Check this email for details.
All Regions must complete this form, even if your Region does not have a nomination, no later than 5:00 p.m. (17:00 CEST) on 25 October 2024.
NOTE:
- Nominations can be withdrawn but they cannot be changed, this includes your Region submitting the form with no nomination. A Region may not submit the form without a nomination and then later change it to submit a new nomination – if submitting with no nomination, you must be entirely sure this is the final decision of the Region.
- The previous age restriction for candidates for IEO/ICM positions (limited to those less than 75 years of age at the time of their eventual coming into office) was removed at ICM 19. There is no age restriction for candidates.
- Your proposed candidates will be considered only if the Bio-data Form and Declaration of Acceptance forms are completed and submitted by them not later than 5:00 p.m. (17:00 CEST) on 1 November 2024 (www.ysmen.org/elections).
Elections – ICM Nominations
Deadline: 25 October 2024 @ 11:59 p.m. (23:59 CEST)
Regional Directors/Regional Offices should share the link to the CP Memo with each of their Club Presidents – www.ysmen.org/cpmemo
Note: Canada/Caribbean and United States Areas do not require the nomination/election of an ICM this year and so the Memo does not apply to clubs in those Areas. No further action is needed at this time from Areas Canada/Caribbean and United States.
The contents of the Memo is available to recipients of this email by following the link below. Only Club Presidents, or their authorised representatives, should progress to complete the ICM nomination.
Nominations for ICM positions submitted through the online form will be automatically forwarded to the relevant Area President. In each case, the email address provided by the person completing the form must be verified as being a valid email address before the form is able to be submitted. Area Presidents can check the legitimacy of nominations by comparing the email address provided with those on record for the club members.
The deadline for nominations from clubs is Friday 25 October 2024 at 11:59 PM (Geneva time, CEST).
The timeline for the 2024/25 International Election process is on the website – https://www.ysmen.org/elections/
