Purpose

To provide financial aid and stability for YMI’s present and future purposes, objectives, programme and expansion.

January is the Emphasis Month for the Endowment Fund.

As we start a brand-new year, there is not a better time to think about the future of our movement. And the purpose of the EF is to secure a bold and bright one for our movement by providing funds for special projects, extension, operational subsidies and a rainy-day reserve for potential times of crisis.

Will you and your club contribute CHF 50 or more to the Endowment Fund and make someone an EF Honouree this year?

Goals

  • To extend and develop clubs affiliated with Y’s Men International around the world.
  • To provide funds to solve special problems or carry on special projects which strengthen, extend and develop YMI in Areas or Regions.

Limitations

Only the income is used. The principal remains untouched (in order to provide stability.)  Funds can be disbursed for stated purposes of the fund and approved by the International Council and the Endowment Trustees

Structure

Five Trustees, serving five-year rotating terms and representing at least three Areas of YMI, invest and manage the funds to maximise income and promote the Endowment Fund. One Trustee is appointed each year by the International President.

Golden Book

When you or your club contribute to the Endowment Fund, you have the opportunity to record for posterity the “Golden Deeds” of Y’s Men, YMCA Executives, Y’s Menettes, relatives or friends of YMI in the Golden Book.

Frequently Asked Questions – Upgrading Recognition

Q: I became a Paul William Alexander Fellow (PWAF) with CHF 150. How can I upgrade?
A: You can upgrade to a Double PWAF by contributing another CHF 150 (CHF 300 in total). Later, if you give at least CHF 200 more (at least CHF 500 in total), you will be recognised as a Multiple PWAF, which is the highest level.

Q: I am already an Honour Roll Member (HRM) with CHF 1,000. What’s next?
A: You can add CHF 1,000 more to become a Double HRM (CHF 2,000 in total). If you then contribute CHF 1,000 more, you reach Triple HRM (CHF 3,000). With at least CHF 2,000 more (at least CHF 5,000 in total), you become a Multiple HRM — the final level.

Q: Can families upgrade their recognition together?
A: Yes. For example, a couple contributing CHF 1,500 is recognised as a Honour Roll Member Family (HRMF). By giving another CHF 1,500 (CHF 3,000 total), they become a Double HRMF, and with at least CHF 2,000 more (at least CHF 5,000 total), a Multiple HRMF.

Q: What about clubs?
A: If your club contributes CHF 1,000, it is listed as an Honour Roll Club (HRC). With another CHF 1,000 (CHF 2,000 total), it upgrades to Double HRC. With at least CHF 3,000 more (at least CHF 5,000 total), it becomes a Multiple HRC, the highest level.

Q: Can I keep upgrading after “Multiple”?
A: No. Once you reach a Multiple level, that is the highest recognition available. Of course, you are always welcome to continue supporting the Endowment Fund, but further upgrades are not recorded beyond this point.
