2025/26 International Election Results

The 2025/26 International Elections have now been completed, bringing to a close the voting process for the next international leadership team.

The results are now confirmed, including the election of the International President Elect and the International Treasurer Elect.

International President Elect 2026/27

Mr V. S. Radhakrishnan, from India, has been elected International President Elect for 2026/27. He will take office as International President on 1 July 2027.

A member of the Y’s Men’s Club of Quilon East since 1993, V. S. Radhakrishnan later went on to establish and join the Y’s Men’s Club of Mutholy. His long association with the movement spans more than three decades, during which he has served at every level of leadership, from Club Secretary and Club President through to District Governor, Regional Director, Area President, International Service Director, and International Council Member.

Through these roles, V. S. Radhakrishnan has gained wide experience of the organisation at club, district, regional, area, and international levels. His steady progression reflects a deep understanding of the movement’s structure and a strong commitment to service and leadership within Y’s Men International.

Professionally, V. S. Radhakrishnan is a postgraduate in Political Science and a retired officer from India’s Ministry of Finance. He is also an active member of the YMCA in Kollam, maintaining close ties with the wider YMCA movement.

Y’s Men International is very much a family commitment for V. S. Radhakrishnan. His wife, Rohini, is a member of the Y’s Men’s Club of Quilon East. His son, Rohith, is a charter member of the Y Service Club of Canberra in Australia, and his daughter, Radhi, is a member of the Y’s Men’s Club of Trivandrum Tower.

As International President Elect, V. S. Radhakrishnan brings with him continuity, experience, and a lifelong connection to Y’s Men International as he prepares to take on the organisation’s highest leadership role.

International Treasurer Elect 2026/27

Mr Svend Erik Nielsen, from Denmark, has been elected International Treasurer Elect for 2026/27. He will begin a three-year term as International Treasurer on 1 July 2027.

First elected to the role for the current term, Mr Nielsen continues to serve as International Treasurer (2025–2027) and as a member of the International Executive Committee. He is also contributing through several international committees, including Finance, Personnel, 2026 International Convention, and Building Fellowship Expenditure.

Joining Y’s Men International in 1997 as a founding member of the Y’s Men’s Club of Hedens, Herning, Mr Nielsen has served the movement at multiple levels over the years, including Club Secretary, Club President, and District Governor.

Professionally, he brings long-standing experience in finance, governance, and organisational leadership. He has held senior finance roles in global shipping companies and continues to serve in executive and board capacities across both commercial and charitable organisations.

Looking ahead to his next term, Mr Nielsen has highlighted clear priorities centred on financial integrity and transparency, sustainability aligned with Strategy 2032 and YMI Focus 2.4, increased visibility of international programmes, and stronger growth in contributions to support global projects. His guiding approach is simple and values-led: “Serving with humility, integrity and joy.”

We congratulate Mr Nielsen on his re-election and look forward to his continued leadership and careful stewardship of the movement’s resources as we serve communities worldwide.

Voting Participation

The deadline to submit voting papers for this year’s International Election was 26 January 2026. At the close of voting, 602 clubs had submitted their ballots. From a total of 711 eligible clubs, this gives a rate of participation of 84.67%.

This ballot is certified by Simply Voting to have been securely processed and accurately tabulated by their independently managed service.
