Concern with Evolution of Pandemic in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

In 2019, Y’s Men International and World YMCA joined a multi-stakeholder partnership to support The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, as part of stepping up our commitment to ending malaria.

YMI has joined with other business partners of the Global Fund who are deeply concerned with the evolution of the pandemic in low- and middle-income countries by co-signing a letter to strongly encourage the United States’ Congress to provide $4 billion (less than one sixth of the total needed from donors) to the Global Fund in COVID-19 emergency funding legislation.

This funding would make an immediate, life-saving impact, would push other G20 donors to increase their contributions, and would clearly demonstrate American leadership in the battle against COVID-19.
