Time of Fast: Driving Change in 2024/25

Since its launch in the 1970s, Time of Fast (TOF) has been recognised as Y’s Men International’s flagship project – one that unites us in service and impact. Coordinated by YMI clubs, the YMCA, and recognised affiliates, TOF initiatives support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While certain projects address pressing local needs, others extend across borders, supporting multi-national efforts that drive broader change for exponential impact.

During the 2024/25 year, TOF funding supported a diverse range of initiatives: alternative education programmes in Japan, a revitalised computer studies project in Sri Lanka, youth peace and ecology forums in South Korea, new housing and livelihood opportunities in India, post-disaster recovery in Chile, and sustainability-focused projects in Rwanda, the Gambia, the USA, and beyond. Together, these projects are transforming lives and offering hope for a better future.

However, international programme contributions have been in decline, making it more important than ever for clubs and club members to donate generously. Contributions ensure YMI’s ability to meet its funding obligations to ongoing projects and are vital for taking on additional initiatives in the future – an essential part of our mission to “build a better world.”

Clubs in good standing with voting privileges are warmly encouraged to submit applications for TOF funding. The new application deadline is 15 November, as approved by the Legislative Assembly in Kumamoto in July. Be sure to familiarise yourself with the amended TOF Policy. Don’t miss the chance to make your project part of the TOF story.

Together, through dedication and collaboration, Y’s Men International’s Time of Fast projects continue to build hope, opportunity, and positive change – one community at a time. Be part of the TOF experience!
