First of all, I would like to express my hearty appreciation of those who attended and supported our the 73rd International Convention of Y’s Men International took place in Yeosu, Korea from 9th to 12th August 2018. The Youth Convocation was held at Jeonnam University, Yeosu at the same time and in fact started a few days before the IC started.
This convention turned out to be the largest IC ever held with about 3000 participants, of course mostly Koreans. About 300-350 of the participants came from the other Areas: Africa, Asia Pacific, Canada and Caribbean, India, Latin America and USA. There were about 30 participants from Europe (Denmark, Russia, Estonia, Bulgaria and Norway).
The lecture by Mr. Kim Yong-ok, the representative philosopher of Korea, during the inaugural ceremony was very thought provoking. Mr. Moon Jae-in, the President of the Republic of Korea, sent his congratulatory remark saying “I would like to express my sincere congratulations on the volunteer activities of the International Y’s Men and hope that this Yeosu International Convention will be a meaningful place to seek the changes and hope for the international Y’s Men.”
