Y’s Men’s Club of Muskegon Marks 100 Years

The Y’s Men’s Club of Muskegon in Michigan is celebrating a remarkable milestone this month as it reaches its 100th year of service. The club will host a Centennial Dinner on Thursday, 18 December, at the Mona Shores Boat Club to commemorate a century of commitment to the community and to YMCA Camp Pendalouan.

Support for Camp Pendalouan has been at the heart of the club’s work from the very beginning. In its first decade, members played a key role in purchasing the land on Blue Lake where the camp still operates today. Over the years, the club has continued to strengthen this partnership by raising funds for camper scholarships and contributing hands-on support for new cabins, building renovations, recreational facilities and trail maintenance.

For more than 50 years, the club was known for its popular White Elephant Sale, which regularly generated USD 20,000–25,000 annually. Following the pandemic, the event was adapted into the White Elephant Auction Sale, now run year-round in partnership with an online auction company. Despite the change in format, support for Camp Pendalouan remains strong, with the Muskegon club continuing to raise significant funds for scholarships and essential projects.

New members and donations are always welcome as the Y’s Men’s Club of Muskegon looks ahead to its next century of service. Contact us for more information.
